Both the Ioniq Hybrid and Plug-In Hybrid models are powered by a 1.6-liter Atkinson-cycle inline-4 producing 104 horsepower and 109 pound-feet of torque. The Ioniq Hybrid is paired with a 32-kW motor to give it 139 total horsepower while earning 54/56 miles per gallon. Plug-In Hybrid models are paired with a 44.5-kW motor for 156 total horsepower.

Using gas and electric power, the Hyundai Ioniq Plug-In Hybrid is rated for 119 miles per gallon of gasoline-equivalent. The Ioniq Electric has an 88-kW motor outputting 134 horsepower and 218 pound-feet of torque. On a full charge, East Lansing, MI motorists can drive 170 miles.
